Summer Mocktail Recipe: Honey & Ginger Lemonade

If you’ve got a jar of Manuka honey in your kitchen cupboard you can still enjoy the benefits all summer long.

That’s because Manuka is a natural sweetener, meaning you can use it in a variety of summer drinks, cocktails and tonics to add a healthy twist.

This Honey & Ginger Lemonade is a perfect drink for the hot weather as it blends the sweetness of the honey, the tartness of the lemon and the spice of the ginger.

Not only is it crisp and refreshing, but it’s also good for you too!

Using Ginger gives you a natural anti-inflammatory boost while fresh Lemons contain about 50 milligrams of vitamin C.

It’s simple to make a Honey & Ginger Lemonade because all you need are these three ingredients and water.

Honey & Ginger Lemonade Recipe

First, slice your ginger and lightly warm it in a saucepan with some water. When the water has infused with the ginger, drain out the excess ginger and leave the juicy goodness to cool.

Next, squeeze your lemons – keep the juice but remove the pips. Depending on how much Lemonade you want to make, you could need 6 or more lemons.

Mix your lemon juice with two cups of water, and the cooled down Ginger juice.

Now add the final touch, your Manuka honey. Two tablespoons should be enough to add sweetness and anti-bacterial properties for several glasses worth.

To make a longer drink, add some extra cold water and ice cubes.
